Walnuts (Juglandaceae) English Walnuts are believed to have originated in Iran whilst Black Walnuts are said to be native to North America.

It is also believed that the Romans introduced Walnut Trees into Germany, France, England, Italy & Spain. The Spanish then introduced the Walnut Tree into California quite some years later. Main industrial growing regions today are, China, USA, Chile, Ukraine & France.

Fun Fact?
A Walnut is technically the seed of a drupe or drupaceous nut, so not therefore a true botanical nut.
