Pecans (Carya illinoinensis) are tree nuts that are native to Mexico and the Southern States of the USA.

Pecans are the only major tree nut indigenous to America. It hasn’t been found to be growing naturally anywhere else in the world. Main industrial growing regions today are, Mexico, USA, South Africa & Australia.

Fun Fact?
It can take nearly 10 years before a Pecan Tree fully produces nuts.
