Peanut (Arachis hypogaea) are actually Legumes and not nuts at all. They are part of the bean family and grow underground unlike nuts that grow on trees.

Peanuts are thought to be native to South America and were moved around the globe by Spanish Explorers. Main industrial growing regions for peanuts today are, China, India, USA, Argentina, Nicaragua & Brazil.

Fun Fact?
The Peanut has the highest Protein content when compared to other Nuts such as, Almonds, Pistachios, Cashews, Walnuts etc #PlantBasedProtein
